Footed white ironstone bowl.
Made in Belgium, circa 1900-20 in the Belgian factories of La Louviere.
Beautiful clean lines.

Boch Frères Keramis was founded in 1841 by Eugène and Victor Boch and their brother-in-law, Jean-Baptiste Nothomb, in La Louviere, Belgium. The company participated in the Paris international exhibition of 1855 and is best known for its ceramicsThe "Manufacture Royale La Louvière Boch" (M.R.L.Boch), which took over the production of tableware from Boch Frères, went bankrupt in 1988.
Ironstone (terre de fer in French) was developed in efforts to find a substitute for porcelain that could be more mass-produced.
Ironstone is sturdier and more durable than porcelain, it is made of clay mixed with feldspar and kaolin.
It is also more opaque, and it can be bright white as here or creamy coloured.
