Description
Caesar Augustus (63BC ? 14AD), was the first Emperor of the Roman Empire, ruling alone from 31 BC. This bust is replicated from a marble statue excavated in 1863 at Prima Porta near Rome & now displayed at the Vatican Museum. Caesar Augustus, whose great uncle was Julius Caesar, is depicted in armour as commander-in-chief of the Roman army.
Caesar Augustus is from Haddonstone's range of classically-inspired busts.
