Description
This handmade tea light holder is designed in the shape of an open lotus flower, with three rings of translucent capiz shell petals. 5" from tip to tip, 2" high. Shell edges and bases are gold color and electro-plated, giving each tea light holder a stunning look. Use with wax, battery-powered tea light, or small votive candle.
Capiz shells are the outer shell of a marine mollusk more commonly known as "windowpane oyster". Philippine capiz shells are so named because they were originally harvested from the shallow coastal waters near the town of Capiz, on the island of Panay. Once cleaned, the shells are naturally translucent and, when painted, allow for a glorious interplay between light and colour.
