Description
This papier mâché bauble has been hand-made by artisans in Kashmir for Fair to Trade. Fair to Trade ensure products are manufactured under conditions that meet recognised employment standards, including fair wages, providing clean and safe working environments, and providing skills training and promotion prospects. The lovely design showing a silver bird nestled amongst leaves and red berries is taken from a furnishing fabric designed by C.F.A. Voysey in 1898 and now held in the V&A archive.
