Description
This original French artwork is a beautiful example of Japonism & the art nouveau movement. The French term `Japonisme', coined by Philippe Burty, embodies the influence that Japanese art had on the arts in France from the 1860s onwards. For many European artists, this was a period of soul searching and aesthetic renewal, looking upon the natural world with fresh eyes to appreciate the sinuous, organic forms, sensual textures and patterns it expressed. This archive print has been lovingly restored and reproduced as a wallpaper design using digital printing and ethically sourced materials.
