About this kitchen:
This elegant in-frame Shaker kitchen was designed by Simon Taylor Furniture for a couple living in a detached Georgian house in Aylesbury Vale, Buckinghamshire. The clients wanted the kitchen to have modern features and contemporary appliances but for the look to be in harmony with the rest of their property.

The 30m² kitchen has lots of natural light flooding in from two aspects. Ornate architraves surround each of the leaded windows with recently restored original wooden shutters, making them an outstanding feature of the room. The bespoke kitchen furniture was designed and handcrafted at the Simon Taylor Furniture cabinet workshop in Bierton, Buckinghamshire. The island was handpainted in Mole’s Breath and cabinetry in Purbeck Stone, both by Farrow & Ball to perfectly complement these heritage features.

Incorporated within the kitchen is an informal dining area area with tongue and grooved banquette seating that has storage drawers beneath. Additional storage includes a pantry cupboard, a breakfast station situated separate to the cooking area, pull out drawers for pots and pans, a bespoke pull-out cutlery drawer with a handle, and on-trend open shelving for cookery books within the island.

Top of the range kitchen Miele Generation 7000 appliances include an 80cm induction hob, 60cm Oven, 45cm Combination Steam Oven and 29cm warming drawer plus a 60cm fully integrated dishwasher. The French door fridge freezer is by Fisher & Paykel and a concealed canopy hood is by Siemens.

The worktop is 30mm thick Andromeda White Granite throughout; a classic pale granite from Sri Lanka with shark’s nose edging. A large double bowl sink is from the Zen 15 range from 1810 Company and the Mix lever tap is by Perrin & Rowe, with a further 3-in-1 Boiling Water tap by Quooker.
