Description
These lovely palms will add a tropical feel to any garden, whilst providing exciting design and structure. The long arching, frond-like leaves are deeply segregated, adding a layer of interest to the garden that many other plants cannot achieve. The canary island palm will slowly mature with a stout trunk, and an arching fountain-like canopy.

Any type of soil - Well drained
Flowering period - Summer
Dig soil improver in to the soil. Dig a hole twice as big as the pot, remove the pot from the rootball and place in the hole, ensuring the top of the plant roots is level with the soil surface. Backfill soil around the roots and water well
When in growth water moderately and feed with a balanced fertiliser once a month. Water sparingly in winter. If moved outside during summer, locate in a sunny sheltered position with some midday shade. No pruning required.
Soil pH - Acid to neutral
H2 - Tolerant of low temperatures, but not surviving being frozen (1 to 5°C)
