One of BRABBU’s major assets is the continuous introduction of new products in its collection in a short time period. This time, the new piece comes to complement the brand’s most well-known family of products – KOI. The new KOI Stool adds a new typology to the family and combines in itself two of the materials that characterize BRABBU’s designs: brass and velvet.
The new piece, as the others in the same family is inspired in the KOI carp which is a recurring symbol in the Japanese culture, highly appreciated by its decorative purposes, not only in water gardens but also in Irezumi practice or, most commonly, in tattoos. Its natural colour mutations reveal their capacity to adapt, just like the KOI Stool, a versatile design piece that can be customized to better fit each ambiance. The KOI scales from the base of the stool shine and reflect – on its brass surface – the sun caught throughout the clear water. KOI and the Japanese word for love or affection are homophones, making the carp also a symbol of love and friendship.
The stool as the other pieces of KOI family is suitable whether for hospitality or residential projects. It can be placed in a living room, a home office or in a more private set as the bedroom.
The new addition comes to complement the set of two dining tables, a center and a side table, and also the screen and rug. An iconic family that has its roots in Japan but that travelled worldwide and can now be seen in many projects around the world.
