How about giving something with  a bit of history, an object, a piece of art that has a story to tell. Something highly individual, something unique.

The textile design has great provenance as it is from a famous french Lyon manufacters archive- Bianchini Ferier. These are gouaches on paper and would have shown the different colourways that would have been proposed for a new fabric design. It would be a great gift for someone who likes design, likes florals.

The silk cushions are made from 1970's tie fabric. This repurposed iteme has a modern with a slight retro edge and will look fabulous in many interiors.

The zulu plates and cups are handwoven in South Africa from colourful telephone wire. The weavers are part of an organisation that helps provide their children with better education. Not only are their practical but a lovely pop of colour to add to your abode.

The 1960's Susie Cooper coffee set would have been found in high end shops such as Harrods or Selfridges at this time of the year. These were modern and stylish wares and I think they still feel very contemporay.
