Oriental furniture specialist Shimu has announced it's first pop-up store in London, to open from the 30th March to the 7th April at the Arthill Gallery in Kensington. On display will be a wide range of the company's handcrafted furniture in lacquer and natural finishes, as well as many of their current selection of Chinese antique furniture.

Shimu has been established for over 15 years and operates from a large showroom in Greengates, West Yorkshire. Says Director James Cottrell, "Whilst we love being based in Yorkshire and are perfectly located to serve the whole of the UK, many of our customers are based in and around London and so are either unwilling or unable to make the trip to visit us. The pop-up store will give these customers a great opportunity to see some of our beautifully crafted products in person at a more convenient location. The antique pieces in particular are best viewed 'in the flesh' to appreciate the character of each unique item."

Along with new and antique furniture, lighting and homewares, customers will also be able to view and order from a selection of original ink paintings by the acclaimed Chinese artists Shi Rongqiang and Liu Yitong. Both artists have recently exhibited iin London, including a solo exhibition by Liu Yitong at the British Museum, and specialise in more contemporary artworks using ancient traditions.

Shimu's pop-up store will be open from the 30th March at the Arthill Gallery, North End Road, London, W14 9NU, 10:00 - 5:00 on weekdays, 10:00 - 4:00 on Saturday and Sunday, closing on the 7th April.
