Game of Thrones fans will never forget the iron chair, but that particular seat of swords was never designed for comfort.

Fortunately, for those seeking softness and luxury while seated, high-quality furniture and home accessories brand La Residence Interiors has added a new throne-like armchair to its collection along with two smaller contemporary-style armchairs to fit a variety of spaces.

The three stunning styles come in a range of sizes: there’s the petite and curvy Annabelle, the more ample, more masculine-looking Arthur and the grand oversized Aston, which is the luxury furniture and home accessories brand’s largest, most throne-like armchair to date.

Founders of Surrey-based La Residence Interiors, Dan and Sarah Cook, wanted to complement their best-selling collection of classic French-style armchairs by adding three newcomers with simple classic lines but a slightly more contemporary feel and minimalistic nail-head trim.

“The Annabelle chair has attractive curves and detailing, such as the buttoning on the seat pad, as well as our trademark quality weathered oak finish on the legs. Its petite size makes it ideal for a bedroom or small space,” explained Dan.

“The Arthur is more generous in size, more masculine and less fussy, with straighter lines and no buttoning. It does have the same nail-head trim, which adds contemporary detail,” he added.

Sarah sees the Aston as adding definite ‘wow factor’ to the range. “This is a real statement chair. It’s almost throne-like. It has a high winged back and huge seat that could just about fit two – not that you would want to share it! The chair has a very solid look with its weathered oak finish and crossbar between the legs and we added a separate cushion for extra comfort. This chair has our classic brass studded trim to add the finishing flourish.”

All three armchairs are available in La Residence Interiors’ most popular Belgian linen colours: oatmeal and dove grey.
