The Shine a Light Movement

Just when we thought the festive season had become a distant memory, people have started repurposing their Christmas lights as a sign of hope amid Coronavirus fears.

A community is gathering momentum, with the express purpose of showing support to those on the front line, facing adversity at every turn. We all need to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel, which is why the idea has taken the internet by storm.

Jo Naughton, Co-Founder of internet fairy light retailer Lights4fun says, “we all need hope right now, so let’s shine a light in the dark to join the community. Share your images with the hashtag #shinealight - let’s spread the love”.

Jo continues, “Displaying lights, whether in your window or garden, is also an opportunity to show friendship and solidarity with our neighbours, reminding the more lonely that there is someone there for them, even if they cannot be seen.”

Lights4fun really want to help brighten up everyone's days that little bit and so if you know of a worthy cause, such as a care home, a community, or a person going the extra mile in the current situation, please get in touch with Becky on becky@lights4fun.co.uk
