British textile designer, Clarissa Hulse has launched a selection of exciting new cushions for autumn/ winter 2020 – Salvia, Hot House, Sea Holly and Water Reeds.

A sumptuous velvet cushion, the new Salvia design was inspired by pressed leaves Clarissa collected in the Peloponnese mountains – an area of Greece where Clarissa’s mother comes from. Available in four colourways – pink, teal, dark blue and grey, the metallic floral print overlay is reminiscent of glinting Greek sunsets. Priced at £40 each, this set looks wonderfully vibrant together, or perfect for adding a singular pop of colour to compliment your room.
The Hot House cushion (£40) is a celebration of colour and botanicals. This design is based on Clarissa's famous backing cloth, which covers her London studio print table and gradually evolves with serendipitous layers of ferns, dill and vines overlapping to create a kaleidoscopic effect – once Clarissa feels it is complete, the fabric backing cloth is carefully cut, mounted and sold as unique artwork pieces, which are hugely popular! This eclectic design is now available in the vibrant Hot House cushion. Featuring pink, mustard, teal and paprika – it really is a riot of colour!
Inspired by Clarissa’s family travels to Greece, the Sea Holly cushion (£40) features an ombre blue sky and has been lovingly embroidered with a gold sea holly motif for added luxury. Quiet and calming evenings in Greece were the perfect backdrop for this botanical starry night design.
The Water Reeds cushion (£40) is inspired by photographs Clarissa took in Suffolk marshlands, where layers of gold would glint in the low winter sun and shine above the water. This captivating design with a metallic overprint, is available in two colourways – mustard and teal.
All cushions are feather filled for a luxurious feel and measure 45x45cm. The new collection is available online now www.clarissahulse.com
