Meet the latest addition to our dining table collection – handcrafted from our bestselling weathered oak and featuring an eye-catching, sharply angular, plank-style pedestal that gives this stunning piece of furniture a truly contemporary feel.

The Newport dining table has a beautiful top with a central carved circle of prime oak and an outer rim in engineered oak, all finished with our multi-stage wire-brush technique to bring out the natural grain and characteristics of the wood.

The sturdy cross-shaped base (which is made as a single piece) is expertly constructed, accentuating the contrast between the horizontal and vertical cuts of timber. It’s a stand-out design with a modern feel – the Newport table would look very home in a minimalistic Scandi-style interior or an open-plan loft-type apartment – but it would also work in a more traditional rustic kitchen setting.

Co-founder of LRI, Sarah explained: “We wanted to introduce a table that was a bit more contemporary to fit in with our existing collection and we loved the sleek angles and chunky planks of the Newport. It’s a perfect contrast to our other round tables with their solid curved pedestals, and it gives our customers something a bit different.”

The Newport dining table has a 130cm diameter, making it slightly bigger than our 120cm round Belmont, Wolsey and Amberley tables, but not so large as the 150cm versions.

It seats 4 very comfortably with our upholstered Devonshire dining chairs, or up to 6 with smaller chairs such as our Flore Bistros.
