New from ILIV is Kasbah, a fabric collection inspired by the markets of Morocco and the historical patterns and yarns created there. Impactful and uplifting, this exciting new collection features bold colours and rich textiles. Available in nine beautiful colour palettes: Almond, Anthracite, Begonia, Emerald, Glacier, Sage, Shell, Ink and Navy.

The new Kasbah fabric collection depicts the rich patterning and exuberant colours of the markets of Kasbah and the vivid dyestuffs used there. There’s a mix of natural cotton/linen blends for the more organic designs alongside richer sumptuous velvets for the more vibrant colour stories. ILIV pride themselves on helping people to connect and be inspired by their environment, and this beautiful collection of unique fabrics inspired by the colours of Morroco certainly achieves that.

Almond
The Almond colourway is subtle and earthy with the Boho print taking centre stage. Boho is the same Ikat design as Kasbah, found only in the mid-tone and lighter ground shades. The result is an authentic handcrafted feel that works well with Summit – a classic herringbone weave that’s ideal for upholstery, cushions and blinds. Also included in the Almond colourway is the illustrative Prairie Animals design which depicts finely detailed hand-drawn animals printed onto a cotton half panama, making it perfect for adding a fun element to an interior scheme.

Anthracite
The Kasbah collection is bold and beautiful, the accompanying prints and weaves have a traditional feel yet are right on trend with their decorative elements. The Anthracite colour scheme is dramatic and eye-catching with the dark grey shade adding depth to the prints and weaves. Prairie Animals stands out due to its linear quality in this colourway as it sits on an off white base, whilst the feature Kasbah print is striking with its pale blue highlights. Marrakech with its two-tone Ikat design gives a monochromatic feel in this anthracite colour that creates an impactful result when used for curtains.

Begonia
The Kasbah collection features one embroidery called Ashiki – it has a repeated Ikat motif on a cotton linen base cloth and is embroidered in a range of dynamic colours; Emerald, Begonia and Navy. The Begonia colourway encapsulates the embroidered elements of Ashiki perfectly, with tones of pink and magenta looking striking. This pretty colour palette features a variety of bold pinks with a hint of clementine that acts as an accent colour. The Kasbah print in this colourway is for those who love bright, fun colours in a bold design and can be teamed with any prints in the same colour palette as they’re designed to complement one another.

Emerald
For a contemporary feel, Bazaar and Marrakech are the go-to designs. Bazaar is based on the smaller scale global geometric patterning which is currently on trend and has been added to create a structural and luxurious element within the Kasbah fabric collection. Marrakech is a striking two-tone velvet Ikat that comes in Begonia, Ink, and Emerald and it adds a fabulous tactile quality. The Emerald colourway ranges from deep sage to a bright apple green. It’s fresh to the eye and brings nature into the home whilst retaining a contemporary feel.

Ink
The Ink colourway includes warming shades of taupes, greys and putty which makes it ideal for creating a classic look that has depth. Both the Kasbah and Indus designs share similar shades whilst Souk, a tonal print stripe and Marrakech are solely Ink and a lovely off-white. The beauty of the Kasbah collection is that the prints, weaves, and embroideries all work together seamlessly and there’s a perfect balance of large and small scale digital designs.

Navy
For a more ‘blue-based’ colour scheme, the Navy colourway includes a range of blues from sky blue to a deep navy. An earthy base colour grounds the Ashiki, Indus, Summit and Bazaar designs, whilst Kasbah sits on a navy base that makes the Ikat design stand out. The Navy colourway is ideal for use as a base for the other colour schemes too, the stripes and weaves will work well mixed with Ink and Anthracite for example.

Sage
The Sage colourway comes in Boho, Indus, Mendoza and Summit designs. Sage is an on-trend colour currently in interiors and it’s a great choice for creating a soothing feel. Mendoza is a woven version of Marrakech and has the appearance of being traditionally hand-dyed. The weave structure has a raised herringbone technique and when combined with the viscose/linen blend the result is a beautifully soft fabric that lends itself well to cushions.

Glacier
The Glacier colourway offers softer natural shades with Boho, Mendoza and Indus being the stand out designs, whilst Summit and Marrakech have the neutral supporting roles. Indus is a natural stripe that adds a classical feel to the Kasbah collection. It’s a vertical warp coloured stripe with an interesting herringbone and geometric technique within the weave. It comes in a wide range of colourways as it’s such a versatile complementary stripe.

Shell
Souk is a tonal printed stripe on a cotton half panama that offers a simpler design that complements the more decorative fabrics in the collection, it acts as a perfect bridge between the hero prints and the weaves. It comes in Almond, Anthracite, Ink and Shell. The Shell colourway includes putty, taupe, pale pink and navy. It’s uplifting and earthy, with colours reminiscent of artisan ceramics in terracotta and a mid-toned grey.
