“Coastal Grandmother” has stormed social, and is now creeping into mainstream media, but what is it all about and how can it transcend from the beach to our homes?

Essentially it celebrates a timeless, pared-back aesthetic - “Coastal Grandmother” emphasizes lighter, monochrome versions of classic elements that feel laid-back. Textures over patterns, palettes of neutral and natural colours with hints to coastal references.

This 'trend' for a minimalist, pared-back and breezy style embodies everything Beach House Art is about; the very core of our creative design and ethos.

Our collection of coastal-inspired art prints (which currently runs at over 200 unique products) is at least 80% original in design; created in our UK studio. The majority are contemporary and minimal in their aesthetic, easily marrying Coastal Grandmother and Scandi in one happy-ever-after.

We spend much of our time styling coastal homes and holiday rentals, watching people by the coast, which gives us an unrivalled view of what this 'new' trend, Coastal Grandmother, is all about.
