Petromax extends the grilling and cooking pleasure on the Atago with a Griddle Plate with matching Insert and Cooking Support. With the steel plate made in Germany in adventurer format, the Petromax all-rounder becomes a plancha grill in no time for even more versatility in the outdoor kitchen. In the different temperature zones, a wide variety of food such as hearty meat or marinated vegetables cook on the Griddle Plate all at the same time. With the matching Cooking Support for the opening in the middle, a Saucepan, Enamel Pan, Kettle or Percolator can be placed directly above the flames. On the mini grilling grate, the food is given the typical grill stripes over flickering flames.

Even more roasting aromas for real outdoor enjoyment
On the hot Griddle Plate, delicious snacks roast side by side and induce new variety to the outdoor menu. Especially small food that would otherwise fall through the grilling grate, as well as delicate fish and vegetable strips, are perfect to be made on the Griddle Plate. Even crispy roesti and fried eggs are a success on the plancha. The Griddle Plate made of 3 mm thick steel impresses with its natural non-stick effect, that gradually builds up as a typical patina. Grilled specialities can be cooked on the plancha plate with little or no added grease, as they cook in their own juices and steam.
The Mediterranean taste experience is created when preparing meat, fish and seafood, while at the same time gently cooking vegetables and the scent of fresh garlic, thyme and rosemary is in the air. The heat is strongest in the middle of the plancha plate, so this is the ideal place for short roasting on the inserted grilling grate to receive fiery roasting flavours. Further out on the plate, you prepare more delicate or small vegetable bites such as pickled courgettes or mushrooms at a lower temperature.

Sophisticated accessories for more variety
If you add the Cooking Support in the middle of the plancha plate, you have more cooking possibilities. There are no limits to the use of Petromax Dutch Ovens, Fire Skillets, Kettles or Percolators: stews, sauces, soups or hot beverages can be prepared at the same time as something is sizzling on the plancha plate. The Cooking Support also prevents the food from falling into the embers. The second accessory is a small grilling grate on which meat can be seared in the middle of the Griddle Plate. If you use the plancha plate without the Insert, you can use the opening in the middle to add wood or charcoal.

The new plancha plate has been specially developed for the Petromax Atago. The plug-in system ensures that the Griddle Plate rests securely and soundly. With the two opposite handles, it always lies well in the hands during assembly and disassembly. The Atago Griddle Plate together with the accessories fits into the Transport Bag of the small Petromax Griddle and Fire Bowl. The transport bag is ideal for storage and protection from dirt and moisture. Inside the bag made of robust ripstop fabric, it is also always with you in the camper, in the bully, on off-road adventures or on day trips to the forest or to the waterside and it is quickly ready for use for varied outdoor cooking adventures.
