Hear from Grazzie, the creative force behind our collections, as she writes the backstory to the newest tiles on the block. First up, part I of the pre-spring drop.

Stucco

Plaster walls are a trend that’s going nowhere, but neither is it staying totally still.

It began with smooth and silky Moroccan Tadelakt plaster and now we’re seeing more visually textured finishes coming in strong from the raw and grainy feeling microcement to the velvet-y limewash look to this, stucco-style.

Our new Stucco tiles are, as you might expect, inspired by classic Stucco cement-style character. From a distance, you can see slight mottling to the colour, giving that visual texture we mentioned and an instant (but subtle) depth to a room. They’re the sort of tiles you want to run your hands over no matter where you use them. 

Large in format at 60 x 60cm and seven shades to play with from a calming petrol blue to oxide red and muted chartreuse, they’re also made for colour blocking. 

Himalaya

We know that stone-effect tiles sell, big time. But it’s not all about tiles that mimic marble, limestone and friends.

The wellness industry is rich with mineral-based rituals. Whether you’re rolling with jade, amethyst, rose quartz, obsidian or something else, crystals are calling loud and clear.

We took that trend and translated it into a tile in four dreamy hues. Himalaya is a salt crystal effect porcelain with a gorgeous matt texture that’s so soft you might find yourself rubbing your face against your bathroom walls rather than reaching out for your roller. 

Kinfolk

This one is seriously cool. 

Think Vincent Van Duysen’s stripped back design language.

Picture new raw luxe Greek island destination, Gundari (opening this summer, note it down). 

Re-imagine tambour wood-fronted antiques.

The list goes on.

Narrow slatted wood is a look that’s loved all over the world from Japanese screens to Scandi partition walls to full contemporary building exteriors. So, we designed a tile inspired by that very look.

Kinfolk is a wood-effect porcelain that can be used across walls and floors to give that minimalist, linear design language that never falls out of favour. Pick the white version and mix it with warming oak and matt black brassware for a modern Danish look or go.

Ascoli 

Last up, Ascoli. The most understated of the lot. 

Sticking to the porcelain chat, this travertine effect tile has been designed to have a tumbled edge, so it feels as though it's already "worn-in". It’s details like that which make it super hard to tell the difference between the real thing and the make believe. 

That’s ultimately what the story behind Ascoli is all about – dreaming up further stone creations so close to Mother Nature’s OG that nobody would suspect a thing…
