NEW SUPER COSY SUSTAINABLE DOG BEDS

Champions of eco-friendly home furnishings, Weaver Green announce the launch of a sustainable and squishy bed designed for man’s (and women’s) best friend.

Weaver Green's new dog beds are designed with both dogs and their owners in mind. Made from brilliant recycled plastic canvas, the new Acorn Chinchilla Dog Bed combines comfort, style, and eco-consciousness in one delightful package. By repurposing plastic waste into durable and luxurious dog beds, Weaver Green is making a positive impact on the environment while providing pets with a comfortable place to rest.

One of the standout features of these slumber pods is the fully removable, machine-washable covers. This makes cleaning and maintenance a breeze, ensuring that both dogs and their owners can enjoy a fresh and hygienic night’s sleep at all times. They are also super hard-wearing, uninteresting to fleas and mites and even resistant to snagging claws!

But comfort is not compromised by durability or sustainability. These squishy, comfy dog beds feature a central cushion with deep padding for extra comfort, providing pets with the perfect spot to curl up and relax. Additionally, the raised outer cushions are designed to support sleeping heads, allowing dogs to rest peacefully throughout the day and night.

The design of these dog beds also has ample space for larger breeds. Whether it's a Labrador stretching out or a pair of fat Spaniels cuddling up together, there's plenty of room for your pets to lounge comfortably. Priced at £210 (for size 95cm x 73cm).

Weaver Green’s super-sized floor cushions also make brilliant pet beds. At a whopping 100cm x 75cm they offer plenty of room and comfort for pets (and their owners) that love spreading out. Made entirely from recycled plastic bottles, these heavyweight, hard-wearing floor cushions look and feel like wool, yet are soft, stain-resistant and incredibly easy to clean. Available in 8 beautiful weaves and priced at £195 from www.weavergreen.com

About Weaver Green

Making textiles from synthetics isn’t a new concept, but it’s estimated that making soft open yarn like Weaver Green’s from recycled plastic bottles uses as much as 70% less energy and almost 90% less water than creating them from scratch. It also makes much more valuable use of the precious resources that go into making the plastic bottles in the first place, like oil and water.

Because the hard work of making the plastic is done already, the production processes can be fine-tuned to limit emissions and use as few resources as possible. For example, the yarn is produced using a closed water system that constantly recycles, purifies and reuses the same water. The dying vats are heated by burning discarded rice and wheat husks, a by-product of local cereal

farmers, in factories with low emission chimneys. All of this helps minimise the pollution from the production and reduces reliance on fossil fuels.

Weaver Green is also very concerned about the environmental impact of it's products. That’s why they use long strand yarn to improve tensile strength and reduce the risk of microfibre shedding. Although their textiles are machine washable, realistically they should only need that kind of deep clean on rare occasions. It's their goal to minimise waste plastic in packaging, opting whenever possible to use sustainable, recycled and recyclable paper and card alternatives.
